REVIEW:
Marlowe is a brooding, low energy, world weary ex-detective who’s now in the private investigator game… his latest client is a wealthy married woman whose lover disappeared.
What unfolds is an ever deepening web of high society, politics, and most of all greed.
The film is based on the 2014 novel, the Black-Eyed Blond and I’d call its adaption to screen a success. Marlowe’s slower pace matched the style and genre beautifully, the Cinematography was great, the mystery kept me interested and guessing, and performances were wonderful.
Top little murder mystery flick.
